GWAS summary statistics (2025)
We are releasing the summary data from our genome-wide association study of plasma sodium concentration, thiazide-induced decrease in sodium concentration, and thiazide-induced hyponatremia published in Andersson et al. 2025 (https://doi.org/10.1681/ASN.0000000622).
The files include results for approximately 9.6 million (MAF>1%) directly genotyped or imputed variants.
Dataset details
The GWAS summary statistics files contains results from:
- Quantitative trait analyses of plasma sodium concentrations (n=188,461).
- Quantitative trait analyses of change in sodium concentration with thiazide exposure (n=14,327).
- Case–control analyses of thiazide-induced hyponatremia (strict definition 392 cases versus 16,336 thiazide-using, normonatremic controls).
- Case–control analyses of thiazide-induced hyponatremia (broader definition 829 cases versus 16,336 thiazide-using, normonatremic controls).
The files provide information on chromosome, genomic position (NCBI build 38), marker name, rsID, effect allele, other allele, beta for the effect allele, standard error, and P value, at approximately 9.6 million variants passing quality control.
